Terms of Service — The Book Girl Club

Welcome to The Book Girl Club. By accessing our website or making a purchase, you agree to the following Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

 


 

1. General Information

The Book Girl Club is a small Canadian business based in Calgary, Alberta.

By using our site or placing an order, you confirm that you are of the age of majority in your province or territory, or that you have permission from a parent or guardian.


We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted here, and your continued use of the website means you accept the updated terms.


2. Products & Availability

We aim to provide accurate descriptions, photos, and sizing information for all products. Please note:

  • colours may appear differently depending on screen settings

  • inventory may change without notice

  • we may limit or discontinue items at any time

We reserve the right to refuse or limit orders when necessary.


3. Accuracy of Billing & Account Information

You agree to provide complete, current, and accurate purchase and shipping information.

If inaccurate information is provided, we may cancel your order and contact you for correction.

You are responsible for ensuring your address and contact details are correct at checkout.


4. Pricing & Payments

All prices are listed in Canadian Dollars (CAD) unless stated otherwise.

Prices may change without notice.

By placing an order, you authorize us (and Shopify) to charge the full amount to your selected payment method.


5. Order Processing, Shipping & Delivery

Processing timelines, shipping rates, carriers used, and delivery expectations are explained in our Shipping Policy.

Key points:

  • customers are responsible for entering the correct shipping address

  • delivery timelines and tracking updates are managed by the carrier

  • delays caused by carriers do not qualify for refunds

  • if a parcel is returned due to an incorrect address, a new shipping label must be purchased to resend it

6. Cancellations, Returns & Store Credit

Order Cancellations

If you need to cancel an order, please contact us within 3 hours of placing it.

After this timeframe, your order may already be processing.

Returns for Store Credit

Returns are handled case by case and are issued as store credit only.

Refunds to original payment methods are not available.


Returns will only be accepted if:

  • the item is unused

  • the item is in original condition

  • the return has been approved by us before the item is sent back

 

Return shipping is the customer’s responsibility.

Shipping fees are non-refundable.

Please do not send items back without approval, as unapproved returns cannot be accepted.

 

Exchanges

We do not offer direct exchanges due to changing inventory.

If a return is approved, store credit will be issued so you may repurchase the item you want.


 

Returns Cannot Be Accepted For:

  • purchasing the wrong Kindle/Kobo model (please check the sizing kit before ordering)

  • colour differences caused by screen or device brightness

  • buyer’s remorse / change of mind

  • items showing any signs of wear, handling, or use

  • sale or discounted items

  • delays caused by shipping carriers

 

Damaged or Incorrect Items

If your order arrives damaged or incorrect, please email photos to info@thebookgirlclub@gmail.com within 24 hours of delivery so I can help resolve it.


 

7. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use our site or products for any unlawful, harmful, or disruptive purpose.

This includes:

  • violating any laws

  • engaging in fraudulent activity

  • attempting to disrupt our site

  • using our content without permission

We may refuse service to anyone who violates these Terms.


8. Intellectual Property

The Book Girl Club owns the rights to our branding, logo, written product descriptions, original graphics, and product photography. These elements may not be copied, reposted, or used commercially without permission.

Our designs and layouts may be inspired by widely shared creative trends within the bookish and accessory community. We do not claim exclusive ownership over general design concepts or styles.


 

9. Third-Party Services

Our shop is hosted on Shopify.

Your data may be processed by Shopify and other third-party partners such as payment processors and shipping carriers.

When interacting with these services, their own terms and policies apply.


 

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Book Girl Club is not responsible for:

  • shipping delays

  • lost or stolen packages

  • incorrect device compatibility chosen by the customer

  • website errors or interruptions

  • misuse of products

Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for your order.
