Welcome to The Book Girl Club. By accessing this website or placing an order, you agree to the following Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before using our website or purchasing our products.

1. General Information

The Book Girl Club is a small Canadian business based in Calgary, Alberta.

By using this website or placing an order, you confirm that you have reached the age of majority in your province, territory or place of residence, or that you have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

We reserve the right to update these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be posted on this page and will take effect once published. Your continued use of the website following any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Products and Availability

We make every reasonable effort to provide accurate product descriptions, photographs, measurements and compatibility information. However:

• colours may appear slightly different depending on screen settings, brightness and lighting
• product availability and inventory may change without notice
• products may be limited, modified or discontinued at any time
• handmade and small-batch products may have slight variations

We reserve the right to refuse, cancel or limit an order when reasonably necessary, including in cases of suspected fraud, pricing errors, inventory issues or misuse of promotional offers.

3. Billing, Shipping and Account Information

You agree to provide complete, current and accurate billing, contact and shipping information when placing an order.

You are responsible for reviewing your shipping address, email address, device model and product selections before completing checkout.

If incomplete or inaccurate information is provided, we may contact you for clarification or cancel the affected order. The Book Girl Club is not responsible for delivery issues caused by information entered incorrectly at checkout.

4. Pricing and Payment

All prices are listed in Canadian dollars (CAD) unless otherwise stated.

Prices, promotions and product availability may change without notice. Any applicable taxes, shipping charges or duties will be displayed or calculated during checkout where possible.

By placing an order, you authorize The Book Girl Club and its payment providers, including Shopify, to charge the total order amount to your selected payment method.

We reserve the right to correct pricing or listing errors. If an error affects an order you have already placed, we will contact you before proceeding.

5. Order Processing, Shipping and Delivery

Current processing times, available shipping methods, rates and estimated delivery timelines are outlined in our Shipping Policy.

Please note:

• customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address
• delivery estimates are not guaranteed
• tracking updates and delivery scans are managed by the shipping carrier
• delays caused by shipping carriers do not ordinarily qualify for refunds, except where required by applicable law
• if a parcel is returned because of an incorrect or incomplete address, the customer must purchase a new shipping label before it can be resent
• international customers are responsible for any applicable customs duties, import taxes or fees

6. Cancellations, Returns and Store Credit

Order Cancellations

Cancellation requests must be submitted within three hours of placing an order.

After this period, the order may have entered processing and cancellation cannot be guaranteed.

Returns for Store Credit

Eligible returns are reviewed individually and issued as store credit only. Refunds to the original payment method are not offered unless required by applicable law.

To qualify for a return:

• the item must be unused and in its original condition
• the item must not show signs of wear, handling or damage
• the return must be approved before the item is sent back

Customers are responsible for return shipping costs. Original shipping charges are non-refundable.

Items sent back without prior approval cannot be accepted.

Exchanges

Direct exchanges are not offered because product availability changes frequently and many items are available in limited quantities.

If a return is approved, store credit will be issued so that you can place a new order for your preferred item, subject to availability.

Items Not Eligible for Return

Returns cannot ordinarily be accepted for:

• products ordered for the wrong Kobo or Kindle model
• slight colour variations caused by screen settings, brightness or lighting
• change of mind or buyer’s remorse
• products showing signs of wear, handling or use
• sale, discounted or clearance items
• shipping delays caused by the carrier

Customers are responsible for reviewing the applicable sizing and compatibility information before ordering.

Nothing in this section limits any rights or remedies available under applicable consumer-protection laws.

Damaged or Incorrect Items

If you receive a damaged or incorrect item, please email info.thebookgirlclub@gmail.com within 24 hours of delivery whenever possible.

Please include your order number, a description of the issue and clear photographs of the item and packaging.

Requests submitted after this period will be reviewed individually. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights or remedies available to you under applicable consumer-protection laws.

7. Prohibited Uses

You may not use this website, its content or its products for any unlawful, fraudulent, harmful or disruptive purpose.

Prohibited activities include:

• violating applicable laws or regulations
• submitting false or misleading information
• engaging in fraudulent transactions
• attempting to interfere with the security or operation of the website
• introducing malicious code or harmful technology
• copying or commercially using our protected content without permission
• We reserve the right to refuse service or cancel orders where these Terms have been violated.

8. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, The Book Girl Club owns or is authorized to use its branding, logo, website copy, original product descriptions, original graphics and product photography.

These materials may not be copied, reproduced, reposted, distributed or used commercially without prior written permission.

9. Third-Party Services

Our online shop is hosted by Shopify. Payments, shipping and other parts of your transaction may be supported by third-party service providers.

Your information may be processed by Shopify, payment processors, shipping carriers and other providers as necessary to complete your transaction and operate the website.

Your use of third-party services may also be subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, The Book Girl Club will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses arising from your use of the website or products.

We are not responsible for circumstances outside our reasonable control, including:

• carrier delays or service interruptions
• lost or stolen parcels after confirmed delivery
• incorrect product or device compatibility selected by the customer
• website interruptions or technical errors
• damage caused by improper use, installation or handling of a product

Where liability cannot legally be excluded, our liability will be limited to the amount paid for the affected product or order, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the applicable federal laws of Canada.
